I think someday I'm going to start having nightmares that Siegfried in Figaro Cave's worm tunnels is a boss battle that is unwinnable or something
For you see, rather than being a skillful or educational experience, FFVI chose to be a sensory experience over the gameplay aspect. It's basically FFV with a closed Job System, and instead of buying Magic, you find it and learn it. That's it. That (and Blitzing) is largely the difference between the two, gameplay-wise.
Everything else is window dressing and melodrama. Otherwise, FFVI may as well run on FFV's engine. Hell, it might.
