The Last of Us help?

So I got another PS3 for Christmas (yay!) and I went out and bought The Last of Us (because why not) and want to get the platinum (which my cousin says is very hard to do), but I wanted to know if I could play through the game on normal/easy then turn up the difficulty at the end and have the hard trophy pop? Or would I need to complete the whole game on hard?

I did a little digging and the only thing I could find for sure on this topic is if you beat the game on hard you also get the lesser (easy and normal) trophies. On top of that, beating it on hard unlocks an even harder mode.

A lot of people I've seen on message boards have actually said that hard felt like just the right difficulty to play it on. So maybe just jump on in and see how the experience grabs you. I know that doesn't answer your question, but hopefully it's insightful on some level.
