"Mevius" is a brand of cigarettes in Japan, so how do you feel about Square Enix naming a game after tobacco?

I wasn't aware of the cigarette, I wasn't aware of the game. Are the cigarettes named after anything?

Here are both the wikis. First, the cigerettes:

Mevius previously called Mild Seven (Japanese: マイルドセブン Mairudo Sebun) is a brand of cigarettes produced by Japan Tobacco. Mevius cigarettes are the fifth widest smoked cigarette in the world with 76.5 billion around the world, behindMarlboro and Camel. Originally manufactured in Tokyo by Japan Tobacco Inc., as a variant of the popular Seven Stars brand, the Mevius under the Mild Seven name has been a top seller since its creation in 1977 and is the second largest cigarette brand in the world http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mevius
    And the game:

The concept behind Mevius was a mobile experience that was comparable with console games. The majority of its staff are veterans of the Final Fantasy series. The story is connected to the original Final Fantasy, though is not a remake and shares no direct connection. It is also considered by the team behind the game as a full entry in the series rather than a spin-off. The story's theme is "warriors of light" http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mevius_Final_Fantasy
In regards to the game, there is a Mevius Final Fantasy Screenshots thread if you wanted to check them out.

Oh, they named that game they were going to work on.

Essentially I'm still left wondering if Mevius is a word that was around before the cigarettes or not. In other words, have they named the game intentionally after the cigarettes or have they named it after something that the cigarettes also happen to be named after, sort of like how there are companies in the UK called Boots (a chemist) and Currys (an electronics store) but if someone names a game Boots or Curry then we probably won't assume they're named after the companies.

From a bit of digging I can't find a precise meaning of the word, but there is some brief mention about a German poet called Mevius. But who knows. Maybe Square Enix will tell us what it means at some point.
