I agree completely. Yes, the "Here's Johnny" line is classic but I thought his performance was laughable and not even remotely scary. I was actually laughing at the end. There are very few Stephen King books that have been done justice in film or TV. His short stories actually made better films like Stand By Me and The Shawshank Redemption.
