If there is one thing Square has never really faltered on, it's been its wonderful collection of musical talent through all of there games. So which tracks get you the most emotional?

True beauty exists in things that last only for a moment.
Current Mood: And it's been a long December and there's reason to believe. Maybe this year will be better than the last. I can't remember all the times I tried to tell myself. To hold on to these moments as they pass...

I love the piano collections arrangement of 'Bran Bal', from IX. It sounds so solemn and melancholic without being truly 'sad'. Sort of separated, emotionally, which I think works well to demonstrate the vacancy of the society in the game itself.
The Windaria theme from Mystic Quest
Xenogears is the tragic story of how your whole life can take a crappy turn, just because you happened to see a lady in a wedding dress before her wedding.
This boy is crackin' up, this boy has broken down
This boy is crackin' up, this boy has broke down
Most emotional tracks, or ones that give me 'the feelz' are:
VIII: Man with the Machine Gun, Force Your Way
FFX: Macalania Woods, A Fleeting Dream
FFXIV: Snowcloak Theme, Through The Gloom
Str8 Pimpin'
FFVII's Opening/Bombing Mission always makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up, and Interrupted by Fireworks is beautiful.
You are Not Alone
Melodies of Life
FFIV: Theme of love - It's so romantic but at the same time melancholic because you think of poor Kain
FFVII: Kalm - so underrated! It's actually my favorite theme in VII, so sweet and relaxing
FFVIII: The oath - when Squall makes his first speech as commander to encourage his comrades and fellow SeeD/students that are fighting and injured in the garden war...so much feels!
FFX: In a fleeting dream - beautiful but again also melancholic
Bravely default: The immortal country - A.K.A Eternia's theme: beautiful, riveting, gives you the feeling of ice and snow.
Bravely default: Wicked battle - Everything about this is wonderful and badass. The electric guitars really makes it adrenalin pumping!
Valkyrie profile: Behave irrationally - pretty, thought-inducing and haunting
There was one track that really caught my ear as a symphonic metal/female singer/female fronted music fan. That track is "Ruined Hometown" from FF:XIII-2 and as a easter egg tune in Lightning Returns.
I first heard it while playing LR and I would often stop in the Dead Dunes just to hear it. I would just go to the right place at the right time in the Dead Dunes and open up the map and listen to the song. I listened to the song so many times in a row that I ended up downloading it to my iPod.
At first, I didn't know the songs title and I searched the LR OST for it but did not find it.
It was driving me crazy. "FIND IT!"
Finally a fellow FF fan told me the song was from XIII-2 after I posted partial lyrics from the song.
The rest of the music from the XIII series is pretty good too.
But "Ruined Hometown" struck a chord with me.
Ride with the steel and the power of the sword.
Stand up and fight now and forever more.
Rise through the night sky with daylight's desire.
To be free there must be Black Fire.
Black Fire by DragonForce. \m/
Chrono Cross - Prisoners of Fate
i.e. my response to pretty much any question involving videogame music.
Aerith's Theme
To Zanarkand
Final Fantasy Main Theme
People of the North Pole/ Servants of the Mountain
Hearing some of those live at the Distant Worlds concert was a whole new experience. I definitely did get teary eyed at Aerith's Theme though I didn't when I played the actual game because her death was already spoiled.
