O being accept and X being cancel is actually standard in Japan for many games. However, when ported to the USA/UK they flip the buttons to have X be confirm, Δ to be cancel and O to be what was originally mapped to Δ.

Resident Evil for Sega Saturn had really terrible controls. I was constantly walking in to walls because of it.

Remember before shoulder buttons for shooting/car acceleration became a thing? God damn. How did we live like that?

I can't stand shoulder buttons for acceleration actually. If I'm not using my racing wheel then give me face buttons.

Surprised that Shauna hasn't complained about the automatic jumping at ledges found in the 3D Zelda games.

I'm kinda sad that Gran Turismo 7 will have to to be played with the triggers, as the face buttons are no longer analog with the Dualshock 4

I was shocked to find that you can't use the WiiU Gamepad's Directional Pad to move in Super Smash Brothers. What gives? I know I'm probably in the minority that far prefers D-Pads to Analog Sticks, but not even having that functionality at ALL?

Analog Sticks are fine for basic moving or pointing or whatever but for precision and controlled presses it's D-Pad all the way for me.

Any game that maps attacking to the right analog stick. That is some bulltrout. Looking at you, Rise to Honor, Hunter, and Too Human.

Any 2D game that dedicates a button to turning around (the aforementioned GG Isuka, that one Mortal Kombat game, etc.)

Tank controls bother the trout out of me now. Which sucks because that means I'm horrible at playing the old Resident Evil games now.

Also, both MML games had amazingly genius controls. You just had to dedicate a couple minutes to getting used to them.
Xenogears is the tragic story of how your whole life can take a crappy turn, just because you happened to see a lady in a wedding dress before her wedding.
