ok well i only played this game once and i kind of rushed through it so i may have forgotten a bit of the story. also this is the hardest FF i played and i played the US snes version so yeah. anyway.

Story: in the world of Earth ( yes it is earth in this game) our "hero", Cecil Harvey is seen returning from his daily pillage. today he stole a water crystal from the mysidians.

Cecil questions the king about his duties and is releived of command of the airship army. his task is to go with his old buddy,Kain Highwind, to deliver mail to the mist village. they leave for the mist village and defeat the mist dragon. the package opens itself and a bunch of Bombs are released. confused the pair see a young girl grieving over her mother. her mother died because cecil and kain killed the dragon. the young girl summons Titan and splits the town in half.

Cecil awakens and spots the girl on the floor. Kain was nowwhere to be found. Cecil goes to the desert town of Kaipo and lets her sleep in a bed. A bunch of junkies enter and want to get the girl too bad cecil aint having it and kills them. the girl awakes tells Cecil that she is Rydia.

Cecil so happens to find his GF rosa sleeping next door. but needs a sand ruby to... you know what i CBA summarizing the story. you want to know go find out yourself. this aint a review. lol ok.

Gameplay. this is the first FF to introduce the now famous ATB gauge. other than that it plays like every other FF gme. oh yeah and you get 5 party member instead of 4 or 3. the only FF to do this ( as much as i have played). but there is no switching between. for example. by the endgame you will have. Rydia, Rosa,Cecil,Edge and Kain. there are other characters such as Yang and Cid. but you cannot use them so you are stuck with the characters you have. removing some strategy.

Verdict: Good FF. Big challenge. Especially on DS version. the story is a little out there toward the end but its nothing like FF VIII. apart from that its your standard FF game.

the last 3 coming up. will FF VI take the crown as so much people would do. or will it be V or IX. find out next time on Dragon ball.... i mean. My top 9.

Out of the FF games I replayed it's currently my favorite. X is still overall favorite, but I'm waiting to see if I feel differently when I replay that somewhere down the line.

Final Fantasy VI.

What!?! Final fantasy vi and vii not number 1 on da list!?!?

yes. that is the truth. anyway. This comes from the FFIII snes thing so yeah.

(i shorten story a bit ok)

story: Terra and soldiers attack town for esper. Soldiers die terra knocked out.
Terra awakes and escapes village. town elder tells thief locke to help terra.

they escape and go to the sand castle. they meet king edgar. evil jester Kefka appears. kefka burns down sand castle. the trio escape on chocobo's.

the trio arrive at karate master duncan's house. duncan not there. trio go into mountain. evil karate dude is there. edgars karate bro,sabin, helps them beat evil karate dude.

the team end up at the rebel hideout. terra joins. team get seperated on their way back to the mines. Sabin goes to imperial camp and finds kefka poisoning castle. cyan only survivor. cyan joins. they flee. also shadow appears there.

the trio go to forest. go on ghost train. Sabin suplexes train. they escape. a fight on a waterfall takes place.

the trio meet orphan Gau. gau shows them helmet and they escape underwater.

Locke is in town sneaking past guard. finds general celes. celes betrays empire joins rebels. they escape. they all meet up in the mines.

uh oh kefka attacks. kefka defeated. the team talk to esper. Terra turns into esper. flys away. team look for terra. terra sleeping in old mans house in thief town zozo. team find ramuh. ramuh tells them to save the other espers in the magitek factory. team go to opera house. team get setzer who has airship. they fly to magitek factory. espers saved. celes stays behind. team escape.

terra awakens and rejoins. they go to esper gate. espers released. Emperor pretends to jail kefka. the team go to the magic village. team meet strago and relm. statues of balance found. return to village. kefka appears kills general leo. ( also celes is with you too). emperor takes to the skies with the floating continent. team attack continent. kefka betrays emperor and breaks the balance. WORLD DESTROYED. years later.

kefka is god. celes almost dies but is saved and goes on adventure to reunite members. ( side stories take place while looking for members)

team assualt kefka's tower. battle ensues in a 4 phase battle. kefka is defeated and his tower starts to crumble. the team escape.

the end.

good story when you play it though.

Gameplay: plays like FF IV. however you do a similair thing to FF VIII where you "junction" espers onto your characters. this allows you to gain extra stats upon level up. and it is also how everyone can learn any spell. this game also sports the biggest FF cast of 14! characters ( though some optional) so you have a big choice.

Verdict: first main series FF game i completed all the way through. its one of the easiest games as if you die you keep all your EXP and levels. the story is great ( though i dumbed it down a bit). and the music is some of Uematsu's finest. its a great game to try out if you havent ( though most people on this site have) and it used to be my 2nd favourite. till i realized i liked the next one more.

I have played this game a few times twice on GBA. and i am currently playing through the Snes translation.

it is my Co-Op playthrough of FFV snes. ( to clarify most people dont know this but FF IV V VI and IX all have multi controller functionality. IV is different though as you dont set up which characters they use. as long as a 2nd controler is in they can choose options for any character.) anyway straight to the point.

Story: princess lenna sees her father King tycoon goig to wind shrine. Lenna notices wind stopped. Bartz sees a meteor crashing. Lenna and galuf found at meteorite. Galuf has amnesia :O.

Galuf and Lenna go to wind shrine. Earthquakes happen. Bartz to the rescue. Bartz joins the adventure. Steal ship. Faris appears. Faris joins. and a whole adventure set in motion.

ok yeah im lazy moan at me. anyway i wont be doing story no more its pointless and yeah. ill do Gameplay still though.

Gameplay: This game is a bit different. you only have 4 characters. Bartz,Lenna,Galuf and Faris ( Galuf gets replaced with Krile though).

Everybody is bare and cant use magic. thats when Jobs come in. you use a massive amount of jobs E.G. Black mage White mage Ninja. and you get abilities. so you can use black magic while you are any other class. or white magic or anything!. so much customization it is cool. it also changes the characters appaearance.

Verdict: i like this game because of the customisation and the characters. again the music is great. the bosses are cool. ( especially that easy liquiflame. heh heh . ) and Galuf is my 2nd favourite ff character Gilgamesh is in it too and he is awesome. play this game wether you want to or not or i will kill you becuase it is awesome ( jokes i wont kill anyone). anyway if you have been paying attention you will know what my number 1 is. and on EoFF it seems populour so yeah.

Never thought I'd see V rated over IV and VI. I like all three games. I need to replay V at some point.

uh woops i forgot about this thread for a bit sorryy. anyway may aswell continue on the my favourite FF game i have played.

Final Fantasy IX

i like this game. it was the first FF i ever seen ( not played) and that was like 13 years ago!. so when i finally play it some scenes come back to me. ( like the blank gets stoned scene) the music is god-tier and the story is pretty good. it has one of the best cast of characters in FF. it is sad though as SE seems to forget about this game i mean we have FF1-8 remade ported whatever, but have we got a single remake port or anything for FF 9? no. it is worse as they even remade FF X and X-2 skipping 9. why they do this i have no idea. anyway the only bad things i can think of are the battles. they are slow and are you may aswell put the battle speed to full as it will play like a standard FF game. this game is pretty difficult but once you learn how to use abilities and grind them up you can beat it with ease. its a great game so i recomend anyone who hasnt completed it to atleast try it out. good for begingers and experts alike.
