    Default Where would you like this series to go?

    Now that the first game has been out for a while and was a major success, what would you like to see from this series in the future? I'm only starting out the game, but I do really like the job system, the customization with the difficulty/encounter rate/etc. The artwork is beautiful and the music is amazing as well. These are all things I'd want to continue. I can't really say much more until I play more of the game though.

    What could be improved upon? What would you like to stay the same? Would you love them all to be in the same world or would you prefer it to go the route of FF in which each game switches things up? Would you ever like to see it move to home console, or is it perfect as a handheld game? Discuss!

    Edit: I have to say it bothers me slightly that Bravely Second shares the name of the feature in the first game that's tied with microtransactions. I don't want any of that. I don't think it's intrusive in the first game, but it still bothers me that it's a thing.

    To me, Bravely Second is the right way to do microtransactions. It gives some lazy people an advantage but is not obtrusive to anyone who doesn't want to do it. I totally forgot you could pay for BS points until you just mentioned it.

    I really hope they do not change the feature to alter the encounters and difficulty on the fly. That made the game so much more enjoyable and was a great evolution of the JRPG formula. The job system and customization was all great too. I guess a little bit more stat customization would be good. Like in FFT where your job at the time of your level up would determine your stat increases. That way you could build some specialists. Add in a way to delevel your characters and you could really go nuts with customization.

    The only big thing I'd change is the obvious one: stop with the repetitiveness (Chapters 5+). It was fun to beat the asterisk holders two times, but I don't need to face all those bosses a billion times.

    That's good that it's not intrusive. I just didn't remember from when I played a little bit before. When I had typed up that bit was when I had gotten to the part it was first introduced.

    That is the only time it will ever be brought up by the game. The game will never mention the Bravely Second system again. And you can actually use Bravely Second for the instant turn mid-battle without ever seeing or being notified about the microtransactions. You actually need to open up the Sleep Potion store yourself via the tiny button to ever hear about those microtransactions again.

    I want the adjustable encounter rate again, but only if they find a way to fix exploration. The party turning back at the entrance to new areas that you hadn't unlocked yet was incredibly frustrating, but it's the only way they could keep you from rushing into a high level dungeon with encounters turned off, looting it for high level treasure, and unbalancing the game. They need some way to fix that. Guarded chests, I suppose.

    It desperately needs more exploration options and a more sophisticated story and characters.
    The first game was very tropey, not in a particularly good way.

    The art style and battle system don't need any changing though, they were great.

    I beg to differ. While the protagonists are pretty standard, the other characters are introduced in a pretty cliche manner only to have their personalities become (in most cases)something much more complex, with much more depth.

    The plot, on the other hand, played with so many JRPG tropes that it was really refreshing to see this kind of resolution to a religion-centered story.

    Seriously, people don't give this game's writing enough credit. It's really self-aware without being blatantly so, and the subtle twists of tired tropes are really satisfying when you see them.

    I'd like them to take the approach that Etrian Odyssey takes: new classes every game. It'd be pretty cool to be a Cyborg in a fantasy setting!
