You're just mad its not yours.
Driver is such a classic
Only just seen this thread!
Some good choices so far. I may even get round to doing my own top 100 at some point. Obviously I'll wait till you've finished to not distract from your list.
In a world where allowing multiple save files is the norm, only Pokemon stands out as still insisting that you only have one save file damn you replayers.
I remember Driver. I remember how odd it was a premise of a game: just drive around, being chased by cops. I mean, it doesn't really sound that exciting, but if you threw in some gunfights and walking around and you've effectively got a GTA game.
Talking about GTA, the thing that nearly ruined me for V was just the amounts of mini-games there was. You couldn't get past the mini-map without first having to peer through map icons from everything to golf, yoga, tennis... it just seemed like padding. Say what you will about IV, at least it made the game relatively simple; too simple, really. The only bugbear I remember was getting a friend's approval up, but even then at least you could hear the in-car banter.
Fantastic list so far, keep it up!
Feel free to start your own! These are always exciting and people can check out more than one list xD
Now for an entry no one has heard of!! Except maybe Karifean
This is a visual novel about a school teacher who starts teaching a new class and has access to the students computers through his own. The story is largely told through the social media they use and their status updates, which is one of the major plot points.
Since it's a visual novel, it's basically like an interactive book. You get some choices here or there which will affect certain scenes. This game also allows you to take a break from conversations and read the student's social media stuff as well.
I liked this visual novel because of its commentary on not just social media, but on visual novels in general. I do enjoy them here or there but some of them are just so overly dramatic and it gets really weird. This one had a part where it seemed like it was going the very dramatic route, only to turn around and show that things were blown up to be a much bigger deal than it actually was. It also gets a little spooky at times, but in a good way. Overall it was amusing and a bit of a breath of fresh air.
*crickets*
I have heard of, and played this particular VN.
It was alright.
I played this one. Good times.
I have heard of it! ...but only because Wolf Kanno mentioned it once.
I'll have to add that to my To-Read-List, I guess.
ToriJ: Pi-car-chu?
I liked LeafGreen and FireRed because they were colourful and had the original Pokémon. I'd like them even more if you could get all of the Pokémon in a single game, though. Someday... I hope.
Bow before the mighty Javoo!
I've actually heard a really good explanation once for why the Pokémon games came in two varieties when the original games came out. Though I sadly can't find it anymore. Now it's just half money-grabbing, and half "tradition". The GTN and Pokebank pretty much eliminate the original reasons.
The single save file thing is easy to explain: To keep legendaries and event Pokémon rare. It's annoying, but they have no reason to stop at this point.
My friend Delzethin is currently running a GoFundMe account to pay for some extended medical troubles he's had. He's had chronic issues and lifetime troubles that have really crippled his career opportunities, and he's trying to get enough funding to get back to a stable medical situation. He can really use a hand with this, and any support you can offer is appreciated.
