87. Princess Debut (Nintendo DS)

Princess Debut is a story of a regular girl who looks exactly like the princess of some different world of sorts and as such is asked by that princess to take her place in the other world for a while because there's a ball coming up and the Princess totally can't dance. Of course our heroine agrees to this like any sane person would.

The game is kind of a point and click almost visual novel dating sim with some dance parts during which you slide your stylus as instructed. A large part of the game is finding the perfect prince to dance with, which leads to multiple available endings. You also gain magical accessories which give you different dance outfits and you unlock new dances and songs as you go.

Yes, this game could possibly take the crown for girliest game on my list, but whatever it is super fun. It's very campy, very safe for kids, although there is a disturbing scene where two women practically force themselves on one of the princes, although the game doesn't go in to much detail about it (it is a kids game) and instead just shows that they aren't very good people. But overall it's silly, it's fun, it's got cute art. I loved collecting accessories and seeing what the new outfits would look like. Some of the dances were harder, but still a pretty easy and short game. Good for something more lighthearted.
