79. Tekken 2 (PlayStation)
v5T16LM.jpg

Tekken 2 is about a fighting tournament. Another fighting game that I don't pay much attention to the story. There's a devil and an angel that can shoot lasers out of their eyes though!

Tekken is a fighting game, so the goal is to beat your opponent up. As with a lot of fighting games, you can also play different modes depending on what you want to play. In the Tekken series, the triangle, square, O, and X correspond to left and right punches and left and right kicks. Combining them will create combos and throws. I always set throws to the shoulder buttons because it was easier.

Tekken 2 is the first game I played. No, not the first game in the series, the first game ever. And I loved it. I had thumb blisters for a good long time. I sucked at it, I still do, but it was fun. The game hasn't aged well and later entries have done what it does better, but it was still a very popular game when it came out and it did bring in a lot of fans. And it's hard to tell now but it was quite an improvement on the first one. But even though it isn't the best in the series, it's still a good game, and it will always hold a special place in my heart.

Favourite character: Jun coYvZtH.jpg
Honourable mentions: Anna rBroT7p.jpg

I liked Jun because I thought she was pretty so I got more familiar with her move set. Fun fact: I learned a few of her moves in real life because I was such a fan. I used to like her second outfit more, but now I much prefer the first one. Although her fighting style is no longer my favourite, she was my first ever favourite video game character so that's pretty special. Anna has been a long running favourite of mine. She was basically a Nina pallet swap in this game but I still enjoyed using her a lot.
