I realize this is probably an unpopular opinion, but I have to agree. Capcom fighting games look flashy and are particularly impressive in the hands of some of the better known players on the competitive circuit, but they just don't seem capable of carrying the weight a Final Fantasy mash-up would require (not that I think the series is really deep, but Capcom's fighting plots seem pretty mindless by comparison). Yes. Though the big problem is that Crapcom hasn't been really that good of a company lately, and have just been right assbutts [ Tekken X Street Fighter on disc DLC for a small example ]
Namco could do a better job, like a Final Fantasy X Soul Calibur because SC characters use weapons like FF characters do, while Crapcom is more used to more Ryu and Ken like fighters who use throwing, kicking, and punching etc.
Get Namco to do it.

Sin is back, and this time Yu Yevon had nothing to do with it. In a twist of fate, the fabled blade, Soul Edge, fell into the world of Spira. Unfortunately for Spira, the blade fell in front of the oblivious Tidus who was quickly possessed when he picked up the sword. Whether it was through the interference of pyreflies or the Fayth, the spirit of Soul Edge formed an outer shell around Tidus which took the shape of Sin.
