Amazing Spiderman 1 was actually decent and Garfield was fine but it was just too similar to a movie I've already seen and loved so this just felt like a copy.

AS2 was pretty terrible. Night and day when compared to Spider-Man 2, which was the best of the trilogy. In AS2 it was almost as if they wrote it in reverse, with a planned climax of (SPOILER)Gwen's death and then trying to figure out how to get it there rather than letting the story grow organically.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Marvel can do, because they've done nothing but greatness over the last several years. I really hope they start with Spidey as an established figure or at least start him off as a new guy in town already in costume rather than going through the origin story yet again.

Yes, and while I agree with you on Amazing Spider-Man 2 to a certain extent, I also believe in comparison to other sequels such as Quantum of Solace, Iron Man 2, Spider-Man 3, and Batman Returns; that Amazing Spider-Man 2 is not THAT bad of a sequel. In fact I'd place it several notches above said sequels. I'd even place it above the stupid Michael Bay-inspired Ninja Turtles movie.
