Well, that's what happens whenever people don't support a movie. It forces the studio (Sony Pictures) to go in a different direction. Imagine if The Dark Knight (2008) had been the lowest grossing Batman movie ever...If that had happened, we certainly wouldn't have gotten The Dark Knight Rises.

Agreed. I liked the Amazing Spiderman movies. Though I'm looking forward to Spiderman joining his Disney friends.

The stupidest thing with Amazing Spiderman was that they went for a complete reboot with the origin story yet again. It was way too soon after the Tobey McGuire movies to do pretty much the same plot again (just swap the villain and name of the love interest and add some side story about Peter's parents that goes no where).

Amazing Spiderman 1 was actually decent and Garfield was fine but it was just too similar to a movie I've already seen and loved so this just felt like a copy.

AS2 was pretty terrible. Night and day when compared to Spider-Man 2, which was the best of the trilogy. In AS2 it was almost as if they wrote it in reverse, with a planned climax of (SPOILER)Gwen's death and then trying to figure out how to get it there rather than letting the story grow organically.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Marvel can do, because they've done nothing but greatness over the last several years. I really hope they start with Spidey as an established figure or at least start him off as a new guy in town already in costume rather than going through the origin story yet again.

Yes, and while I agree with you on Amazing Spider-Man 2 to a certain extent, I also believe in comparison to other sequels such as Quantum of Solace, Iron Man 2, Spider-Man 3, and Batman Returns; that Amazing Spider-Man 2 is not THAT bad of a sequel. In fact I'd place it several notches above said sequels. I'd even place it above the stupid Michael Bay-inspired Ninja Turtles movie.

All of those sequels are still better than AS2, but yes, sequels are generally worse than the original. That's not a rule though, not even for comic book movies. See: Spider Man 2, X-Men 2, Captain America 2, The Dark Knight...

Can we agree to disagree? Because with Batman Returns, you have to turn your brain off in order to enjoy it. With Iron Man 2, it was a commercial for the upcoming Avengers movie half-way through it. Spider-Man 3 had an unnecessary narration in the beginning; then it had MJ singing and Peter Parker dancing and then Harry & MJ were dancing, and basically it had too much singing and dancing for me, not to mention that MJ could've told Peter that Harry was forcing her to break up with him but she doesn't. Stupid blonde Kristen Dunst keeps her mouth shut for some reason.

Oh, and Quantum of Solace wasn't even half as good as Casino Royale was....No, Skyfall earned that honor in my opinion.

And then you end up with Star Wars Episode 1-3

I do too. Just probably not for the same reasons.

I still find the ice skating battle and "never leave the cave without it" to be among the funniest scenes in any movie ever.

Amazing Spiderman 1 and 2 were terrible. The first was boring and a tad redundant. The 2nd had too many villains, corny acting, a terrible score, and unfulfilling. I hope that with anything new they are planning with Spiderman that it's much better. This new reboot is completely disheartening. I hope Sony keeps their mouth shut and let Marvel take complete and total control because otherwise it will continue to be terrible.

With that said I liked Tim Burton's Batman films better than Nolan's for the simple reason that it's a comic world and felt like a comic world. Nolan was geared more toward making it as realistic as possible when it is anything but. I like the message in his films and the acting but not the films themselves. The Dark Knight was only good because of Ledger. Batman Begins was a borefest as was Rises. This is probably an unpopular opinion but that's how I feel so I look forward to reboots...sort of.

I am fearing Affleck as Batman and what Synder is doing to Aqua Man and Batman and just ugh. X-men (a few of the movies)seem to be the only ones that got it totally right.
