I broadcast from my PS4 all the time, I used to try and stream at max settings but like you say, it didn't work very well. Since then I turned the streaming settings down to medium and it seems to stream fine, I get no more then 10 viewers though (including one on my laptop so I can reply as I don't like to talk on my stream) the picture quality seems pretty decent and I get the buffering screen only every couple of hours or so.
