...Like Star Trek (2009) and Star Trek Into Darkness, and dislike The Amazing Spider-Man 2 at the same time? I mean all three movies are made by the same writers, and all three movies have their fair share of flaws, it's just that people choose to overlook the flaws in the J.J. Abrams Star Trek movies and for whatever reason people cannot overlook the flaws in Amazing Spider-Man 2. It's almost as if people see Amazing Spider-Man 2 as the new "Batman & Robin" and personally I don't think it's that bad.

Not really? People like what they like.

Maybe they find it easier to forgive flaws in Star Trek compared to Spiderman, because they're more inclined to the Star Trek premise? And for what it's worth, I know of plenty of people who hate both, who like both, and also who like Spiderman over Star Trek.

They were? No wonder I liked all three movies.

People overlook the flaws in J.J. Abrams Star Trek movies? I think you and I know two very different groups of people. Everywhere I go people are constantly hating on the new Star Trek movies.

Most of the people in my circle hate certain singular aspects of the Star Trek into darkness, but dislike Amazing Spider Man 2 on a whole. Haven't ever seen the new spider man movies; maybe the hate is just because Star Trek fans are more forgiving than Marvel fans?

Same writers doesn't mean much as they are different kinds of movies. JK Rowling wrote both Harry Potter and books like The Casual Vacancy. They are both different, and someone could easily love one and hate the other. It's a similar thing.

I thought they were all pretty fun movies to watch!

Well, no, it isn't strange at all, really. The stories are constructed very differently, the characters are different. Some writers have hit books and failures of others. Some artists have popular songs and others flunk. The creator means nothing if the work itself isn't good.

So, you're saying that the J.J. Abrams Star Trek Movies are somehow constructed in a way that pleases people "more" than The Amazing Spider-Man 2 ever did?
