Given all of the talk of Kojima leaving Konami afterr the new MGS is released I'd imagine one of a few things happened:
1) Konami are the reason he's leaving and he isn't interested in working with them on anything else,
2) Konami are pissed he's leaving and cut ties out of spite,
3) They were unable to come to terms as far as him leaving but continuing to work on Silent Hills,
4) Or maybe they all just hate each other now and no one wants anything to do with anyone else.
I'd imagine it may have more to do with Konami assuming Kojima still wanted to make the game though. I mean let's face it, he's not going to be there anymore and he's the only person there who's been making games worth playing with his team since the era of the PS2 ended. And that's not even me exaggerating to make a point, I genuinely have no idea how their other titles in the last ten years have been popular enough to make any money. Losing Kojima is like losing their single biggest revenue stream on the video game end of things. I wouldn't be surprised if Kojima Productions was carrying the other dev teams to a large extent.
