I don't mind seeing short-shorts on girls as long as their mid-thigh length. If the shorts are so short that they only cover your hips, then I have a problem with that; it's too short, but if it's mid-thigh length, then I'm fine.
And I don't want to see saggy pants, either.

Agreed. School uniforms are the norm in the UK, and it stops a lot of the problems which arise from people wearing their own clothes, such as competing to have the coolest clothes.
Maybe someone should start a new thread about school uniforms? People have been talking about them quite a bit.
They do school uniforms for urban schools that have a lot of people who get their clothing stolen or because of gang violence (red color clothing etc.) They probably should've done it for our school because clothing was consantly stolen in the girls gym locker.
In college, they don't do school uniforms, so while I won't object to a school uniform if they do decide to use one, I don't think they need it. I do, however, think that there should be dress codes for students, as well as teachers.
For instance, do you think it's appropriate for teachers to wear jeans? I personally do, but not everyone does.

Its one of those things where they want everyone to look "professional". I would much rather my teachers wear jeans. But none of mine ever did. So it's extremely likely my school had that sort of dress code for the faculty >.>
My schools - primary, secondary and sixth form - had dress codes for the staff.
Also, my sixth form didn't have a uniform, but you had to dress in smart clothes (e.g. suits).
I'm all for dress codes. Men generally look a lot hotter in suits.
The only good thing about the news piece is that it is getting attention, and seemed to go at least slightly viral (well, it's here, isn't it?) and people are talking about it. The talking, based on this thread at least, seems to be a general agreement that it was absurd. So hopefully it's going viral because people think it's absurd, and more people will see the general consensus on the matter and start to realise that it really, really was absurd to fire someone over such things.
I have never before heard of a teacher getting fired for being attractive. I've never really had a huge attraction to any teacher, though. I've thought some were really pretty but not actually fancied them. Looooads of people at my high school fancied various teachers, I remember that much. Nobody cared. Or at least, nobody I knew cared enough to make it obvious to me that they cared.
If a teacher was doing porn on the side I can imagine it would cause debate but if it's just sexy snaps, psh. Teachers have the right to feel good about themselves just like anyone else.
EDIT: Regarding what they wear: Smart casual is fine for teachers as far as I'm concerned. Why should I find it harder to be educated because they are wearing jeans?

If students have to wear a uniform or conform to a dress code, then it seems only fair that teachers also follow a dress code.
Because it is at the schools discretion as to whether they ask their staff to conform to a dress code as well. I had to wear all black at my job in retail - did it make any sense to wear all black? Not really. Could I have done my job in jeans and t-shirt, absolutely. But it was a requirement set by the company, and if a school wants to set a code for their teachers that is absolutely okay in my opinion. It's not about you finding it harder to be educated or easier - it's about the presentation of the school and their staff, just like any other job.
In my secondary school and at my sixth form, I noticed that girls and non-straight guys (there were a few of us, although not many) were much more likely to admit crushes on teachers than the straight guys.
I'm not really sure why that was. Maybe the straight guys felt uncomfortable at admitting attraction to women who did not match the unrealistic expectations of beauty created by the media?
I don't think that's it, and it's a bit of a jump really.
I knew plenty of boys at school who crushed on the lady teachers, same with at 6th Form and then Uni. It's all anecdotal though, like, everyone is different, people aren't always gonna be attracted to the hot teacher - regardless of sexuality/gender.
