Homura
Homura is a homunculus treasure hunter, who is known to be very skilled. As he is a homunculus, he talks a bit in borken grammar like the rest of his people. He's very helpful and kind to those around him and never hesitates to lend a hand. He is a samurai of sorts in battle and can use numerous skills, including stat buffs and attacks.
VS
Miruca is an alchemist who uses the "new" method of alchemy, and she can synthesize your weapons and equipment. She's very shy and quiet and socially awkward, believing in blunt honesty even though that can make her seem rude and standoffish at times. But deep down she is very caring and very much wants friends, and she also loves her sister a lot.
From Blazblue:
Noel
Noel is a girl who joined the military academy for her family. She's also a robot or something of the sort, although she didn't always know that. She's very soft spoken and kindhearted and has a lot of friends. But she is also shy and clumsy and easily embarrassed. She is a gunslinger of sorts and very fast to use in battle.

Izayoi is a bit complicated. Izayoi seems to be the true form of the Izayoi weapon which is held by the character of Tsubaki Yayoi. Tsubaki however, for the game I played, was brainwashed. When Izayoi was activated, she started to think more for herself, and searches for real truth and justice. When her friends snap some sense in to her, she decides to fight for her friends and for what she believes is right.
And from Eternal Sonata:
Polka
Polka is a young girl who sells floral powder for a living. She's terminally ill, something which grants her magical powers, but people are worried she's contagious. Because of that, she's very ostracized even though she's a very sweet girl and only wants to help others and make friends. She joins the group in order to ask the royalty if they can tax the mineral powder product so she can sell floral powder more easily. Of course along the way they learn there's more to it than that.
VS
Viola is a goat farmer. She knows some fishy stuff is going on with the evil Count Waltz and his evil mineral powder before the rest of your party does, and she joins to help you guys out. She has feelings for another character, and she likes to tease the younger members of your group. She's generally outgoing and honest and is overall a pretty confident person. She's also a beast in battle who can heal everyone no matter where they are and deal absurd amounts of damage from long distances.

Today we are doing a lot of Final Fantasy-ing!
First, from Final Fantasy IV:
Cid
Cid is a mastermind engineer who designed the Red Wings, the strongest airship fleet in the world. He is very much against the war and always has a sunny disposition and a smile on his face. He's an old friend of Cecil and Rosa and a strong supporter of their relationship.
VS
Rosa is the lady of the leading man, Cecil. She's an archer and a white mage, and overall team mom. She loves Cecil and is good friends with a few other members of the group. She acts as general support and she fights with the others, never giving up the good fight.
From Final Fantasy V:
Faris
Okay, I'm going to spoil this game that's as old as I am. Faris... is a woman *GASP*. She is a femme pirate who dresses as a man pirate because... well pirates. But that doesn't stop her from being the ass kickingest pirate in all of the Final Fantasy seas. She has a big sea dragon creature named Syldra, she's the lead pirate, and she climbs cliffs to save Lenna. She speaks her mind, she's kind of gruff, but she's a good and strong person.
VS
Lenna is the princess of Tycoon, off searching for her father and vowing to protect the Crystals along with Bartz and the others. She's very friendly and caring and loves all creatures, even at the expense of her own health and safety.
And from Final Fantasy VIII:
Squall
Squall is the dude with lost of talent and a bad attitude and he quickly moves up the ranks. The game revolves around him and the process of him learning to open up to people and stop being so closed off and cold to others. He starts off the game as a pretty big jerk but he opens up a lot and shows that he cares about his friends in his own way.
VS
Zell is a hot dog loving young man with a hot temper and an excitable attitude. He yells, he gets offended very easily, and he tries to act like a tough guy. He's actually really nice and has a pretty stable life for himself in Balamb with a loving mother. He's a barefisted fighter.

Rosa, Reina and Squall.
Rosa mainly because she's an Archer and a White Mage, so she was always useful and fun to play on top of that.
I like Reina just a li~ttle bit more than Faris. Probably has to do with her name which inspired When They Cry, and anything inspiring that I like by default :P
And Squall is my favorite FF main character.
