Cruxie and Seung Mi-Na.

From Tales of the Abyss:
VS
Natalia is the Princess of the Kingdom your hero is from, and has been engaged to him since childhood as kind of an arranged marriage type of deal. At the start she acts a bit spoiled and very bossy, but she isn't afraid to get her hands dirty when they need her and will jump right in to help those in need. Her love story later in the game is kind of messed up, but it's one of my favourites because it's kind of unconventional and I think it's sweet. She also learns more about her family and has some things to work through there as well.
Jade is a colonel in the army for the sort of enemy Kingdom to the main hero. He's a legendary fonic artes user (the magic in this game) and is very well respected. He's also pretty much a genius, very sarcastic, sometimes a bit lazy. As the game progresses you learn more about who he is and how he became that way. As I mentioned in the character sheet, it's not just interesting from a well-told story standpoint but it also gives you a type of character you don't often get.
And from Star Ocean 4:
VS
Reimi serves as the second-in-command aboard the spaceship of newbs traveling the galaxy. She's from a prestigious family and she's very smart, well-read, good at martial arts, and a master of archery. She's kind to others and she does her job as best as she can, including when she needs to take command, even though it doesn't seem like she'd be the best at leading because of her more demure personality. We get to learn more about some trauma later in the game and how she's dealt with that.
Faize is an alien that meets and helps the main party. His race is technologically advanced, and he becomes a useful ally on the journey. He's very kind and polite and his intentions are usually good. He does care about his friends and he works with them well and always give things his best. Later in the story, the stress starts building up for him after he loses some of the things most important to him. Then some spoilery stuff happens.
48 hours and the last round closes in about an hour~!
Natalia and Reimi.
I hadn't been giving much love to archers up till now in this character tournament, and that needed to change.
Jade Curtiss, hands down. That game has plenty of good characters, but Jade is easily among the best.
I'll go with Reimi for Star Ocean 4.
My friend Delzethin is currently running a GoFundMe account to pay for some extended medical troubles he's had. He's had chronic issues and lifetime troubles that have really crippled his career opportunities, and he's trying to get enough funding to get back to a stable medical situation. If you like his content, please support his GoFundMe, or even just contribute to his Patreon.
He can really use a hand with this, and any support you can offer is appreciated.
Natalia & Faize

From .hack
VS
In "real life" (it's a gme that imitates an MMO, so the players have "real lives" outside of the game) Elk is a middle schooler who joined the game to overcome his shyness. In the game, he is a a wavemaster (magic user) who follows around the cat-like character named Mia and cares about her a bunch. Mia is quite mysterious though as usually animal characters are not allowed and she seems to know things no one else does. Discovering more about this person he cares so much about is a big point of his story.
Mistral in "Real life" is a 20-something year old housewife who does administrative work. In the game, she is also a wavemaster, and mostly plays the game for fun. She's very upbeat and cheerful and excited to help out. It isn't until later in the story that she realizes some funky stuff is going on.
And from Final Fantasy IX!!!!
VS
Most of you probably know these two characters!
Steiner is the Captain of the only male knight squad in Alexandria. He is generally not taken seriously. He is fiercely loyal to the Queen and Princess Garnet, and when Garnet is 'kidnapped" by Zidane and co, Steiner makes it his mission to bring the Princess back safely and see Zidane and his band of thieves brought to justice! But eventually Steiner learns that blind loyalty is not the only way to go, faces some lawful vs good dilemmas, and learns that things aren't always so black and white.
Vivi is a little Black Mage boy who kind of gets caught in the middle of things because he wanted to see a play. Soon he sees that other Balck Mages like himself are used as tools of war and artificially created and manufactured. Who is he? Is he a weapon or a puppet like they say? These are questions Vivi has to find answers to, and then he has to deal with the knowledge that comes with them.
48 hours~ Last round closes very soon
