Thread: Favorite Version of Behemoth?

  1. #1

    Default Favorite Version of Behemoth?

One of my favorite FF staples.

    1. Which game do you think they looked the coolest?

    2. Which game had the hardest version?

For #1, I have always adored FFX Behemoths. They're the first one I always think of.

I guess I prefer the on two legs approach.

I dunno about #2... Probably FFXIII. They're the ones with the swords that operate as a separate enemy or target onto themselves, right? I remember there was one of them, named Tyrant, in that godawful tower on Pulse. I just could not beat that thing.

If that wasn't a Behemoth then disregard.

I agree with that assessment. FFX Behemoths are my 'default' behemoths, in my opinion. The FFXIII versions of them did a really good job of making them different, yet still reminiscent of their classic look particularly when they stand up. The FFXIII behemoths though are so ridiculously tough when you first encounter them though.

You think the battle is going alright when its still on all fours. Then you see it stand up, remove the sword from its own head and regenerate all of its health bar. And then out comes the really heavy sword swipes...

EDIT: Also, you're not quite right. Those are the Pulsian war machines, and some of them are pretty tough. They look like this.

FFX, but the Behemoth in FFXV was incredibly impressive.

FFX Behemoths looked the coolest, but the hardest was in FFXIII. And I really enjoyed having one in my team in FFXIII-2.

I really liked the XIII Behemoths. They're probably my fave. And when you finally get to the point that you can murder them at quick speed it's incredibly satisfying.

XIII series Behemoths are my favourite.
Not that I've seen that many varieties, having only played the X series, XII and the XIII series.

I have two things to say that brought me out my current lurkdom phase:

    1) I do think it's nice to see more people who were introduced to the series through the modern games. Myself, my first game was FF X and what a ride that was! Although, I've mainly gone through FF I through V since then. I'm still working my way up... slowly. Still, despite the flak I see the modern games get (despite getting very good reviews on average), I like to see the new games get their fair share of love.

    2) Love the avatar! Paul McGann is the absolute bomb!
