Why can't we have multiples, if Pokemon allows multiples?

For me it would be Tonberry, T-Rexaur, Behemoth, Veteran, Magic Urn, and Marlboro.

I was thinking about a dragon, but I can't think of any memorable ones in the series other than Grand Dragon.
