I know it might have been silly to expect, but I was kind of hoping someone other than Nomura would direct the remake. I'm afraid Dude-san's gonna tweak the trout out of it till it's not even recognizable.

I suspect this was the reason Nomura was taken off as director of FFXV.

I'm not really that familiar with his directing work, so... Don't know how to feel.

Yeah, that's the problem, though. Artists tend to want to try new things and infuse new ideas when they redo their old special works, typically ruining what made the thing great in the first place. (E.g. Lucas with Star Wars).

I also just realized that 2017 isn't just the 20th Year Anniversary of Final Fantasy VII. It's also the 30th Year Anniversary of Final Fantasy as a franchise!

What a perfect year for a remake.

Hell, my feelings on XV aside, I have to admit this is shaping up to be a good console generation for Final Fantasy.

Lol...Do people with Wii U's really still hope for 3rd party games? I mean the last 3 Nintendo consoles didn't have any 3rd party support. Why would the Wii U which has sold the worst of any of them magically get anything outside of Nintendo's 1st party stable? Nomura wouldn't get out of bed for Wii U.
