turning off notifications on tumblr

But now I'm getting hudreds of notifications a day on my phone which is annoying

Is there a way to turn off notifications for certain posts?

Not for certain posts; only for all posts. What kind of phone do you have? Turning off your push settings for tumblr on your phone will do it, but again, it will turn them all off for tumblr.

Either that, or you can go to the actual tumblr site and change the notifications to alert you for only the people you follow.

I just tell the Tumblr app to force quit because it's a huge battery hog xD

the post in question was posted ages ago but in the last month I guess someone popular found it and it went from 800 notes to 30000. And my phone has told me nearly every one of those. I did what Shorty said and turned off non-follower notes.
