I have a very selective memory. Things that do not actually concern me I have a tendency to forget about really quickly. Things I take or have taken an active interest in I sometimes remember for-e-ver.
I will randomly mention something you PMed me about in 2004.

I've become extremely absent-minded these past few years. I think going 10+ years in a Crohn's flare has caused some problems w/ my head. I have a hard time getting the right word to come to mind when talking to someone, my short term memory is trout. I'll remember something from long ago that's obscure, but can't remember why I walked into a room.
I'm good at remembering some things and bad at remembering where I put my keys, glasses, purse, etc. I am always misplacing stuff.
It's actually quite good if a bit selective on certain issues.
