    Dancing Chocobo Shadowrun Returns

I got this in a GOG sale and it's really good stuff so far. It's like if you took an old-school isometric CRPG (like Fallout) and mixed in X-Com-esque combat. I dig it.

    Anyone else played this one?

No, but I was a pen-and-paper Shadowrun nerd back in the 90s and I loved the Sega game.

I did, I got about half way through, and my RPG instincts ruined it for me. I wanted a team of characters with personalities I'd care about. It was hard for me to play it as an XCOM game, because those dudes had no personality and I loved that game. Not sure what triggered in this game to make me more snobby about it. But I don't regret buying it. They definitely deserved the money. And the sequel, Dragonfall, delivered on damn near everything, other than an annoyingly ridiculous difficulty spike after a while, I would highly suggest playing it to anyone interested in, or disappointed by the first one

Can't wait for Hong Kong, as they are obviously honing their craft, and are on their way to becoming the next BioWare or something

There were good and bad things about it. It seemed really strategically shallow to me, and had a bunch of mechanics that were seemingly completely irrelevant - like the whole "hacking" world that was virtually inconsequential to the entire game.

But I like turn-based RPGs a lot in general, and the world and atmosphere were pretty cool, so I enjoyed playing it.

Picked up Returns this Steam sale. Unrelated but the Genesis game was one of my favorite 16-Bit RPGs, so I'm curious how these guys adapted the world. Looking forward to jumping in, just hope it doesn't end up one of those games in my backlog I just don't have the will to start.

I got Dragonfall on my phone but haven't had time to play it. I play on the phone mostly in line or on the crapper so I'm not sure if an RPG is the best game for it, but I heard good things.

Yeah, some of the mid-to-late game missions can take an hour or more of multi-floor / large complex arena battles. It can get pretty crazy. But the early game stuff should be okay. I'm thinking you can't save mid-battle though. And phone games would be prone to idling out. Though for android I know you can access console commands and put in things like god mode and stuff, so you can experience the story and stuff pretty quickly in those if you wanted
