Well there aren't that many JRPG series that are as long running, certainly not in the west. There's Tales and Dragon Quest I guess but a lot of those haven't been localized or have been much lower budget affairs.
Final Fantasy is probably the only JRPG series (that I can think of) that's been AAA for the last 20 years or so. Right?
I'm another Megaten series lover. I cannot say I've bothered ranking them beyond that definite first, but Final Fantasy would probably come in second place if I did.
