When I was playing Infamous on the PS3 I become obsessed with getting all of the trophies. I got to experience everything in the game but I also felt exhausted. To this day I can't play an Infamous game. =S

Anyway, I think the trophy/achievement thing is a neat little part of a game, but it shouldn't be the be all end all. It's too easy to become obsessed with them.

Like how IVs and Evs and natures kinda took some fun out of Pokemon for me.

When i am depressed, bored or have no internet. Gamerscore always gives me the incentive to play some games i have. bring me to take on new challenges. and also make me play some of the evil Games in history. ( DAMN YOU STORMRISE!!!!!!!) so yes i like gamerscore. it also shows how much i have no life....

There was a time when I would attempt to get all the achievements in a game to be top among my friends just for the sake of having a bigger e-peen. Some games I even played because I knew it would be easy. Duke Nukem Forever fixed me of that.

I once carried a garden gnome through an entire chapter of Half Life 2. We laughed together, we cried together, we became good friends, and when the time came I shot him to the moon in a rocket for a ding and an imaginary award!

Recently I would only hunt for achievements in games I really like, but with the Xbox One's new leaderboard I find myself a little more interested in them.
