    Default PS3 or PS4

So with my PS3 dead, my GF has offered to just give me hers because her roommate has converted her to Microsoft consoles and she's always been more of a PC gamer (she's the reason why I'm playing through my Steam account) but part of me think it would be easier to just buy a new PS3 since I still have several games I need to play through and I'm sure she'll miss the PS3 eventually. My other idea is to just save up and jump into the next generation of gaming. It's no secret I don't have much love for the PS3 but maybe the PS4 will bring me back to the Sony love. I also just feel like there are more exciting games coming out for the PS4 and the last two PS3 games I was looking forward to are being released on the PS4 as well so it's not like I would be missing out. On the other hand, while a PS4 is probably in my future, there is not a whole lot available at the moment to get me super excited to jump into the new console generation, and I really don't want to repeat my issues with the PS3 where I felt like I was waiting most of the time for all the cool games I was promised when it was first announced and mostly got transferred to its successor.

So which should I do? Should I just pick up a new PS3 and wait on the next generation to have a few more "must haves" before taking the plunge and maybe spend some time working on that backlog, or should I save my pennies and take the plunge to join modern gamers.
