Well, if it's any consolation, you, Fynn, and Sky were the only ones to make me legitimately fear for my team.

The whole match was a power struggle! I was down to two Pokemon, and only one of them could threaten Tyranitar. So yeah. Excellent match, Shai.
Really? You were more scared with me than with Bern?
Well, you had something Bern didn't.

See, you guys all know Minato as the undefeated champion. But there was a battle that I know Minato lost.

    It featured this little guy:

    Her reaction:
I thought I was doing well until Vivillon. Before you set up, I just thought it was pretty and I wanted one. Note to self: Never underestimate a Pokemon just because it's sitting in the NU tier.

    So, PTSD flashbacks and all.

I think they might. I'm pretty sure Jinx and Denmark are redoubling their efforts after being beaten in their first battles against Skyblade.

And yes. Vivillon is surprisingly deadly.

I wish I had thought to save a replay of that match.

The important part went something like this:

    Chansey versus Vivillon.
    Sleep Powder.
    Quiver Dance.
    Quiver Dance.
    Hurricane.
    Chansey switches out (Natural Cure).
    Hurricane.
Pokémon faints, Chansey comes back out.
    Sleep Powder.
    Quiver Dance.
    Quiver Dance.
    Chansey wakes up: Seismic Toss.
    Sleep Powder.
    Hurricane.

Vivillon is the harbinger of the cold despair within your heart. You are left watching on in helpless agony as your Pokémon are destroyed by forces beyond your power.

Especially true if you're playing no items, so there's no actual way to defend yourself from sleep.

Still, a lot depends on luck. If a Pokemon wakes up before I finish quiver dancing, well, things might go badly.

Jinx, have you evolved Eelektrike and Gabite yet? I felt kind of bad about beating you when your team wasn't fully up to snuff.

That was the battle I got stomped. I took out two of his Pokemon, and I was really confident about beating him when he starts putting my team to sleep.

He then proceeded to take out my remaining four Pokemon.

Sleep powder is a bitch. Fortunately Vivillion is weak to a lot of stuff. Just give one of those pokemon Sleep Talk and it's done for.

"Well, I'm up for a casual battle
    if anyone would be interested?"

    "...how? You won't be borrowing
my team, that's for sure. So all
you have is your real actual team,
which would be unfair, wouldn't it?"

    "W-well... I guess. But hey, can't I
    just borrow your tournament team
for only a little bit? Pretty please?"

"Nah. You would just spoil all my new
secret strats. Well, not that I would
    ever borrow you anything anyway."

"You know what? You suck! Screw you!"
"Oh my... ouch. I'm so totally hurt."

I remember this incident. Cow jumped over the moon, and trout got real!

It was too soon after the great Frog Battle of '03.
