    Default Shigeru Miyamoto

So I have been playing video games for the majority of my life, but I'm not very knowledgeable on companies and designers and creators and history and all that fun stuff. So I'm pretty behind the times in all of this.

Sharky recently founs a YouTube series called The Gaming Historian which... explores gaming history and stuff. So we watched like 4 video in a row and Mr. Shigeru Miyamoto appeared in all of them.

So does this guy do like... everything? Why does he always look so happy compared to the other Japanese video game fellows we see in the video? How many Luigi dolls does one man need?

Discuss! Inform me about video game things

"He also stated that he has a hobby of guessing the measurements of objects, then checking to see if he was correct, and apparently carries a tape measure with him everywhere"

This doesn't have anything to do with Shigeru Miyamoto, but while we're giving off random facts, Satoru Iwata, the President of Nintendo who sadly passed away recently, wrote original coding from scratch for the EarthBound game after their current codes weren't working. He also condensed the Gold/Silver Pokemon game to half the cartridge (when it originally filled up the whole cartridge) allowing them to add the Kanto region from the first game into the second half of the game.

Satoru Iwata gives no smurfs. Satoru Iwata makes codes his bitch.

Miyamoto is somewhat of a mascot for Nintendo and I think he enjoys that role. He's definitely one of the most influential if not the most influential people in video game history. It will be a sad day when he's no longer a part of this industry.

Miyamoto is perhaps the most influential person in video game history. He's solely responsible for many of Nintendo's popular franchises, and many of the games he developed were based on many aspects of his life. Take Pikmin for example. One of his favorite hobbies and fascinations was gardening, which just happens to be the inspiration for Pikmin. If it weren't for Miyamoto, Nintendo, or gaming in general, wouldn't be where it is now.

Apparently, I have been declared banished.
