Favorite Grand Theft Auto?
What's your favorite Grand Theft Auto? For me it's 5 but before 5 ever came out it was Vice City. I don't know, I was stuck between San Andreas and Vice City but I think VC managed to capture the 80's better than SA was able to capture the boyz n tha hood feel of the early 90's. SA had better gameplay but strangely it felt dumbed down.

5 for me was the most well put together of the series. The story wasn't ridiculously long and arduous like some of the other games tended to be, the characters were great, and the heists were crazy fun.
Picking between VC and SA for second place is really tough though. Vice City has such an awesome theme and the radio talk back is absolutely hilarious, but San Andreas had so many options and customisations, it also had my favourite soundtrack from any of the games.

I really disliked IV the first time I played it, but when I picked it up again I found myself enjoying it much more. But hoooly hell is that game long. I mean, does anyone actually finish all of those missions?

As soon as the series went 3D, I lost interest.

Saints Row 2
Vice City, I only played the three on PS2 though. Never really got back into it. Online looks like a lot of fun and from what I've heard Ballad of Gay Tony is one of the best games.
Yeah, GTAV was very slick and fantastically realised. The characters were superb too.
The one I enjoyed most though was probably GTAIII. It was pretty ropey as it was the first in the PS2 era but it was my first 'sandbox game' experience. Also, the Chatterbox radio station with Lazlo was fantastic. I used to just drive somewhere quiet, park up and listen to Chatterbox.
Vice City was a close second though. The soundtrack was amazing.
Guess no one here played the "Stories" games.
Toni Cipriani really loves his mama. Enough to make (literal) lunch meat out of guys she praises more than him.
Vice City Stories meanwhile was San Andreas levels of a more "serious" narrative. Victor Vance was a pretty sympathetic protagonist who got played and used and forced back into a life of crime. The story of him and Louise, a woman and her baby he rescued from an abusive household, is pretty well done.(SPOILER)And heartbreaking considering how it ends. smurf you, Martinez.
It also is a tragic tale about how Vic tries to keep his idiot brother Lance safe and out of harm. We all know how that ends. There was something seriously wring with Lance, like a mental disease or whatever.
Yeah, we recognize the City stories games. But they're more like spin offs or prequels of main series games like GTA 3 or Vice City. Sadly they never made a San Andreas Stories. My guess it would've took place in 1989-1990, and Sweet or Caesar Vialapando would've been the protagonist. But I've got to CLEO sorted out so I can play a bunch of mods on SA. Including a taxi mod, black market mod, robbable stores mod, a farming mod, ahh dude when I get it sorted out GTA SA is gonna rock.
