    Default Changing opening themes

I was thinking of something Dan Harmon said about when you change the opening theme your throwing the audience off before you've even started and while watching Babylon 5 I do feel it has a ring of truth to it and wondered about your opinions on such matters?

They changed the opening theme to Charmed during their last season and it was the worst thing ever. I also don't think it's a coincidence that was their worst season. >.>

    Same theme forever!

Babylon 5's changing themes were brilliant!

The changes in the themes reflected changes in the tone of the show.

New theme, otherwise things get a bit repetitive.

This. I love tone shifts. And opening themes should reflect that.

Me and Sam are also watching Lost Girl and I've already found the never-changing theme to be incredibly jarring. And apparently in its five season run it didn't change once.

That works a bit better because it's the same theme song going through remixes.

Wait, when we talk changing themes are we talking theme songs or just the images that play, because I have no problem with the latter.

Calling it the 'opening theme' implies the music, which can confuse things. I tend to call the beginning sequence of images and music that prefaces every episode the 'opening title sequence'.

Generally, I like the images to change each season, and keep the music the same, or at the most remix the music slightly.
