Seeing how Yuji Hori mentioned the 3DS remakes of DQVII and VIII will most likely come West, I'm pretty sure this game will leave Japan. Square has said they are backing Sony in order to build up a stronger console sales for their titles and it's one of the reasons why the VII remake is even happening.

A non-multiplayer focused DQ is a welcome sight. Building on VIII sounds like a gread idea! I hope we get it.
