It's true. I would never want him anywhere near the white house (or any state house, for that matter) but damn if his presidential campaign hasn't been the most entertaining in a very long time.

Like, I can't even bring myself to dislike him and the ridiculous things he says. I'm too busy laughing at the absurdity of it all.

That doesn't mean anything when he's running against Hillary Clinton, who is without a doubt the wealthiest of the democratic runners right now. The statement stands that he needs all the support he can get.

Only a few weeks in and we are already shocked and horrified at Trump and it's stopped being jokes and games. It's not funny anymore; it's frightening.

I haven't decided who I'm voting for. It's between Hillary and Bernie for me.

Looks like we're ready to make a projection with 2% of forums reporting: Bernie Sanders has just been elected President of EoFF.

    He absolutely has my vote.

Edit: Even if he is......a socialist. Even the insidious root word implies a disconcerting focus on society, societal development and support, and generally creating policies that would benefit the quality of life for citizens. I must be a mad man.

Unfortunately, every national government ever to label themselves "socialists" has been the exact opposite, a complete nightmare with anything but benefiting the quality of life of its citizens as its preoccupation, and thus ruined the word forever in the western world. Cuba is probably the most popular remaining "socialist" nation, and well...that makes it just a little disconcerting to some people when they hear talk of socialism and socialists, much less a presidential candidate proudly proclaiming himself to be one.

Not that I'm dissing Sanders or anything. Just saying.

How well has socialism actually worked out for Cuba? It seems like a majority of the people there struggle to get by. I agree with a lot of Bernie's ideas but socialism has proven to be a degression. I can fathom a female president (Hillary tho no thank you) more than I can fathom a socialist one. Not going to happen anytime soon methinks. Considering this country is hellbent on keeping a democratic republic as well.

Cuba has Marxism/Leninism, not socialism. Not really a good example to pick anyway as it would probably be doing a lot better without crippling US sanctions too. It's like saying democracy is pointless because of how well it's gone in Iraq.

If you want a better but not perfect example, the politics of Western Europe (I don't mean godawful trout like the UK by the way. I mean Scandinavia, Switzerland, Austria, et cetera) are much more socialist than America, and it's these countries that have a higher standard of life for its citizens than in the US. Free healthcare should be an inalienable right in any and every developed country and it baffles me that the USA doesn't have that.

And even if you don't agree with that, well:

    I mean, come on now.

God knows this country tries to emulate America as much as it can so sort it out for our benefit if not yours. 20 is not enough damnit

When I visited the USA the thing that shocked every American I spoke to without fail was the amount of time off that I was able to take from work for my trip. So while I didn't know of the numbers pointed out in that graph, they don't surprise me in the least.

Not American here, but hoping y'all vote for Bernie. I don't know whether it's because I've been brainwashed by Tumblr to cheer for him, I'm guessing that's a very high possibility, but he does sound like a potentially fantastic president.

I alway laugh at comments like that. Political correctness is used for terms that could be seen as offensive to others. So people hate it cause they can't be jerks and say mean things?

    It's amusing. People are amusing.

Preach it. Suddenly, PC became a slur. Why?

Because what they really mean is they are upset they're being called out for being racist/sexist/homophobic/transphobic/whatever. We've succeeded in making 'bigot' a thing people ABSOLUTELY do not want to be called, but rather than reducing bigotry, instead it's just made people who are called out for it get really really offended that they can't "tell it like it is" or whatever.

If I can't have Elizabeth Warren, I will take Bernie Sanders. I feel like he has a huge uphill battle ahead of him though and I really hope this grassroots effort takes off in the same way it did for Obama.

I'm hoping she will cave and be his VP.
