I would regard a skateboard as a short-distance method. Maybe a mile at the most? Bicycles I reckon any more than 5 miles is a bit of a slog. I don't think a motorbike is safe for doing really long distances say... more than 20 miles. Any more than that and you're looking at a car or a train.
