Our news articles used to create threads there and technically we can move article threads there too but we felt it was more productive to leave the news in the FF sections for better discussions.

With the way our article promotion works we can't technically get rid of it but it isn't available from the index anymore. I don't believe you can post in there, it's just a collection of some old articles it's duplicated or whatever.
