how about putting a quick reply box at the end of the posts. i think it's more convenient and one less page to load, ya know? the other forums that i go to have it and i think it's great.

What do you mean? There's a reply box at the beginning and end of every page of every thread... or do you mean at the end of every post? Or at the end of the thread title in the main forum page?

I think the one at GamingForce was a hack written by their webmaster himself anyway, I doubt any of the admins would be willing to do that here, knowing how reluctant they are with board hacks
As useful as it is (especially when on dial-up), it also easliy encourages spamming, since you could just hop from thread to thread and post away *used to do that in the old spam forum at Gamingforce*
It's true, I think there's a lot more spammers in GF forums because of that quick reply box. It takes less time to load, so people don't even have to click on the 'reply' button.
Yes, I find the Quick Reply Box very convenient, but I don't believe that it'll be appropriate for EoFF, because it does encourage spam, and if we had a spammer who posts porn during the time most of the staff are away, it'll be a big problem for us, and an advantage for that spammer. So I'm against it for EoFF.

okie dokie. i just thought i'd suggest it since it makes life easier for those with 56k modems.
I don't think the Quick Reply box adds to spam. For the first week it does, and then people move on. It lessens the load strain on the server, helps load times for users, and just is generally more convenient. And the porn people thing would only work as replies to posts anyway, since you can't do a quick thread. *shrugs* I think it's the most convenient and useful hack on Gamingforce Forums, and that's saying something.
