Yo all, I have to brag somewhere.

So I went to a comedy show in Brooklyn and ended up meeting a published author through Harper Collins and a big-shot editor with Publishers Weekly (those are freaking huge names for anyone who knows about books). I casually pitched a novel about "a corporate military cadet who rebels against his own army to escape human experiments and save the planet from manufactured Global Warming" and they are now following me on Twitter, and I ended up on an exclusive private email list.

Holy bulltrout batman I have no idea how I pulled this one off or what I'm going to do with it but I have to brag to someone!

I had a Big Shot Author following me for a few months, but I finally managed to get a restraining order. That put paid to it. I don't mind the "hide behind cover and stare wistfully" type of followers, but when they started rooting through my rubbish and making nuisance phone calls I had to take action. You want to be careful, lad.

Are you sure that the person following you is really that author? It would be a real Hammer Blow to your ego if they turned out to be a fraud.

Or even worse, what if they are just trying to scour your idle twitter thoughts to steal ideas and make them into the next big hit novel after hearing your awesome pitch? That would be a real Catastrophe.

That's the terrifying power of technology today though, isn't it? You put an idea out there and then some opportunist, with the help of a Satellite Beam, posts it up on Twitter and claims it for their own.

Hahaha you guys are great. I'm laughing so hard I'm trying not to cry in public. That would be so weird if it weren't the real author! Cuz then it's like wtf are you doing handing out copies of someone else's book lol?

I'm still kinda in awe about how this all went down. It was like "oh shoot you're all like important people...talking to me...Do I write too?...well actually...think fast think fast..."

A bunch of authors tend to follow me on twitter when they find out that I write. Then they promptly unfollow me when they find out that 90% of what I post on twitter are dumb game screenshots.
