Ring of Red!

This was one of my first PS2 games and is still one of my favorites, despite how little love Konami seemed to have for it. It's a great title that blends turn based map screens with real time combat segments for an extremely unique experience in the genre. Too bad most maps take 3+ hours to finish. ._.
Ristar!
This is easily on my top 5 Genesis games list, with bright, colorful stages, excellent music, and a surprisingly fun 'grabbing' gimmick. It's a bit too bad the game never saw a sequel, unless you count the GG version (which I always saw as more of an alternate version, like 8-bit Sonic 1), but, then again, with how most 2D platformers transitioned into 3D, maybe it isn't so bad after all. The title seems pretty unknown now, though.
