Be grateful it's not the Famicom version of FFIII. If you try to run from combat, your defense is automatically reduced to 0 until the battle is over. Yeah, it's better to die fighting than watch your party be completely destroyed by turning and running.

The reason I'm not updating too much is because the grind is incredibly daunting and I have to keep teleporting out and reentering Pandaemonium because I keep running out of Hi-Potions and ethers. I possess no less than 12 elixirs now, however. So at least I get decent cash.

Started FFIII! Wooo!
So I assembled the party, helped princess Sara and took care of the curse. Then the crystal gave us jobs and now we're getting Cid to Canaan!
I actually kinda like how they gave the protagonists personalities. They really didn't add a lot of scenes, but what is there is pretty telling. I love the body language of the characters and their characters are kind of easy to make out in the dialogue. Good effort!
My current party is thus:
The game is quite difficult compared with FFI and II so far. But besides the occasional character death that forces me to reset the DS because I don't want to waste the single Phoenix Down that I have, it's going okay. The holy arrows were incredibly handy.
The only problem is that I need to get my DS fixed since not only are some of the buttons not working properly, but the top screen is kind of wonky and only works when I hold it up in a particular position. And I can't use the 3DS since the wife is currently using it to play 9 hours 9 persons 9 doors (and I also just prefer to play regular DS games on the smaller screen of my regular DS, don't ask me why).
(Also, I am disappointed no one has complimented my pants)

Reached Canaan today. Mrs. Cid is sick and everyone seems to be talking about some dashing young lad by the name of Desch who came to town some time ago. So a girl fell in love with him and is now worried about him since he went to the dragon mountain. Guess where we're going next!

I'm currently visiting my parents for the holidays so I'll be playing the game and posting less frequently. But this IS still going on, don't worry.
Right, so this is coming back on Monday. You know what I like? I like that the Monk is really helping me make ends meet financially. Luneth is really cheap to fully equip.
