Default Eating Bambi (The deer, pervert.)

Well, more likely one of Bambi's parents.

Tonight I had stewed deer for supper and it was sooo good that I had no residual guilt for eating a cute animal.

    Cows are actually cuter anyway.

Do you enjoy any particular dishes made from wild game? I've had wild turkey and squirrel before as well, but that's it. I had squirrel when I was very young and I remember it made me sad.

    Signature by rubah. I think.

I don't think I ever had wild game :/ I would if I was given the opportunity to do so! I honestly would like to because everytime I watch that show Bizarre foods I get more encouraged in wanting to try anything exotic and gamey. I hope one day Escobert brings me a beautiful platter with a roasted sheep's head for me to try. Throw in some deep fried batter of alligator as well!

One of my uncles came over for a holiday with venison sausage. It was wayyyyy better than I expected it to be.
I've had Bison too. They make good burgers.

Do you consider shark and alligator exotic? I've had them both, and they were awesome. I know its kinda common here, but may not be in other places.

I actually rarely eat beef most the meat I eat is venison. I like it better and it's cheaper to get one processed than buying a bunch of meat. I use ground venison the same as I would ground beef.

I've tried squirrel before. It was okay. I'm not the biggest fan of wild turkey. Wild pig is blech. Antelope makes good sausage. Elk is fantastic.

There sadly is not enough wild game in western europe to keep it below exuberant prices. I've had Bambi meat once (yes, that's what that is now officially called) and it was not bad. Like a good steak, but slightly different.

Deer is pretty good. I eat it occasionally because my parents own some large forest areas where hunters often hunt, so we get a share of the meat as payment for them hunting on our land.

I love venison, but when I roast it myself it ends up extremely chewy and tough, no matter how moist and tender the meat is.

Wild pork is possibly the ultimate wild game meat. I don't hunt, though, so it's very rare that I ever have any.

Yeah the deer 'round here at least eat EVERYTHING so their meat is pretty tough and gamey even if they don't run out after being shot. Usually we sweeten it up a bit. sausages are especially good.

I've had lots of game meat.

I made some pretty tasty venison gyros once. It turned out really well.

HOW DO YOU KEEP YOUR GROUND DEER PATTIES FROM FALLING APART.

You know the only time I had lamb was in a gyro but it was weird. Luke it was a lamb/beef mince formed into a square Patty. I didn't like it! I also remember having mutton once as a kid and I didn't like it either! But I wonder if I would like plain old lamb.
