II but I still loved it. Probably because I played the GBA version so it was easier.

My dumb phone wont let me reply with quotes, so i will say that I dont remember finding V hard at all, probably because im such a grinder. Another one i found difficult was VI in terms of the multiple parties, and i didnt give the final dungeon a chance so i am going to retry. As for ff III i played the DS version, I dont know how it compares to the NES version but its still hard. And i will still try I and II even if II is tricky.

Are you serious? FFXII isn't that easy. I would say it is probably on the easier side of the numbered FFs, but it is by no means 'auto-play'.
Completely serious. A couple years ago I re-played it to make sure that my judgement of the difficulty wasn't skewed by my overall lack-lustre impression of the game on release.

It pretty much wins this award for having Phoenix Downs and Life spells being rare, and also being one of the few FFs where utilizing status magic is the key to making the game not one massive ragequit. I probably died more times in this game than any other in the series.
    This.

Idk, in III I struggled on my first playthrough, yeah, but the second one was a breeze and I didn't even grind much.

FF 1 not too bad if you play the earlier versions, you can get lost pretty easy though, can be rough for those not used to retro/ older games before.

FF2 you can screw up your game pretty easy if you don't know what you're doing, though once you get the hang of everything, you can conquer the game.

FF3 this game was created by the devil himself.

FF4 in any version if you grind enough, you shouldn't bump into any dilemmas.

FF5 some bosses are a bit unforgiving, epsically near the end and the final dungeon.

    FF6 easier than FF 1- FF5, but harder than FF7- FF10.

FF7 pretty easy compared to earlier games in the series

FF8 the junction system can be very complexed and confusing and frustrating to understand. Again, if you get the hang of everything, the game can be a complete cakewalk.

FF9 Goldilocks, not too hard and not too easy either

FF10 pretty cakewalk until the Al Bhed Home and then the game suddenly hits you in the face ? Very entry level/ beginner RPG until about Mt Gagazet/ Zanakand.

FF12 a little rougher than previous games

FF13 Entry level/ beginner rpg- heck ! The game plays the game for you !

    Winner : FF3

FF II and III are the only ones I would consider even remotely hard, but which of the two is harder I can't say. It's been a long time since I've played either.

There's some hard battles in almost every FF games, but I think the most difficult in general is FFIV.
