And really, Jiro, I don't think this attitude is necessary. This is a popularity contest and people are here simply to have fun. While some nominations can be less informed than others, there's really no reason to be hostile about an award that is at its heart trying to be positive. Yes, you did have a point in your speech about all this being hollow, but I don't think that's a reason to just berate people for nominating wrong.

Come on, Christmas is coming. We all put a lot of effort to make this event fun for all, so that we can get into the Christmas cheer while validating each other. Yes, it's all feel-good and self-indulgent, but what's the harm in indulging in that every six months?

People here love you, Jiro. You've been selected most missed because people miss how often you've posted. Mae also used to post a lot more. That is why. I have great respect for you as a person and as a writer, and that is why I voted for you. If you think it's fake or hollow, that's okay, but this thing here is not okay.

So please, let's just keep this thread happy and safe for everybody from now on, okay?
