    Default Star Trek Beyond

The trailers just keep coming. I get the feeling if you didn't much care for the last two Star Trek films then this one won't be for you either. I've enjoyed the last two, so I'll wait and see on this (hopefully they won't try to remake a previous film this time):

I thought Into Darkness was just okay, but I loved the first one. I'm excited!

If Kirk doesn't get with the alien chick, I'm going to be disappointed.

Strange how that's my only hope going in.

It looks super actiony, which really isn't a Star Trek thing. I do enjoy the new movies, though they're fun sci-fi. This time, it's directed by a different guy, the guy who did the fast and the furious movies. Despite plot, those are fun entertaining movies so this should, at least, be a fun ride.

Looks like a fun romp! I enjoyed the previous two so I'm sure I'll enjoy this one.

It looks alright. I am sure the actual movie will be better than the trailer displayed, but I am more of the classic Star Trek fan where I feel all the "boring" dialogue and science is more fascinating.

That said I did enjoy the first reboot movie a lot. I felt Into Darkness got a little too cartoonish and while every movie has weird plot problems, espeically big movies, there were too many glaring ones in that one.

Star Trek was about the characters and the movies have stayed fateful to them. Hopefully they're just trying to cater the people who usually go and see that director's movie for ticket sales and the movie will be more than what we're seeing in the trailer. They know by now Trekkies are going to hate on it regardless of what they try to do.

The first Star Trek in this reboot franchise was fantastic, probably one of my favorite films ever.

Into Darkness was good, but not as good.

This will probably be good but the trailer doesn't make it look good. The trailer makes it feel like a comedy. Seriously, I'm getting Galaxy Quest vibes here.
    I like Kung-Fu.

Trailer is weak as smurf. Also lol motorcycle flying through the air. I'm so not going in with high expectations.

I like that the trailer gives away very little, and appears to be cobbled together from 2 or 3 action scenes.

I'm expecting the final film will deliver some actual surprises, especially to long-time fans. From what I gather, it looks like being a more traditional Trek-esque story: the crew are stranded in completely unfamiliar territory, without most of their advanced technology, and have to work together with suspicious aliens in order to save the day through innovation, inspiration and perspiration.

If so, then I'll be pleased. The fact that Simon Pegg's been heavily involved in writing makes me all the more optimistic. I reckon there's a concerted effort to depart somewhat from the direction of the previous two reboot films, and I'll be intrigued to find out more.

Sure, this initial trailer just seems to be a couple of minutes of mindless action nonsense - then again, that's exactly what I thought of the trailer for Mad Max: Fury Road. I never ended up seeing that film, but it seemed to do a pretty good job of defying expectations.

However bad it is, it can't be as bad as Star Trek Nemesis. Those were dark days...

I think some of the people who have been so down on the last film forget how dreadful some of the previous films were.
