Everyone has overlooked the obvious answer here. Probably because it didn't make it to the poll.

But, if I could remove one character:

Genesis.

Just, no. Get him out of the game.

Technically, he's not in the original game, so there's nothing to take out.

I wouldn't remove any of them. Not even Cait Sith. At this point, I'm pretty sure that's going to be my answer for all of them.

I'm preemptively calling for him to be removed from the remake.

Smart call. Since you just KNOW that Square can't wait to tarnish the game with his presence.
