    Default resident evil 2 questions

I've recently purchased Resident Evil 2. I've managed to get past the clunky controls that were causing my character to get his flesh eaten repeatedly (I like how its says You Died, as if I couldn't work that out lol) I'm immersed in the beginning but I have some questions, can someone tell me where the first save point is? How far apart are the save points? I'm ok with starting again cause I'm still learning to play it effectively. But soon I would like to save my progress before his flesh gets torn off again. Is that possible?

Ah, this takes me back. Don't you just love how the game starts you off right in the middle of the road with zombies coming at you? There are a lot of them you have to avoid just to get to the smurfing store.

The first save point is in the police station, I believe. On the desk in the reception hall. You need to find ink ribbons in order to save, and you need to save them too and be careful with when and where you save. Because if you run out of ink ribbons... you won't be able to save your progress until you find new ones.

It's actually pretty bulltrout now that I think about it.

Making saves a limited resource is definitely not something that would be popular these days It did add to the tension though, made you wonder whether you should save now or risk a few more rooms first. Problem was it didn't account for reasons that you might want to save outside the game.

But yeah the game should give you at least the first ribbons and typewriter fairly soon, I believe Ayen is right about when. You don't actually need to worry about save point locations too much because of the way the game is structured - once you reach the cop shop you shouldn't ever be far from one, just a few rooms at most, and the way you gain access to more of the building means you typically go through or past safe rooms pretty regularly.

Ayen is correct. Enjoy this one. I replayed it earlier this month on Leon's disk and it was a blast to go through again.

Sometimes I'm so frustrated when I get a game over, but the way he dies is just too damn hilarious. It took me a few times to be prepared for that first lot of zombies. But I figured it out. I've only played ps2 action games recently (where characters are actually human in the way they walk) At first I meant to go one way but kept backing him into some flesh eating gorefest, for example. I've reached the cop shop and ribbons a couple of times now, so will have no problem killing me some deadies again to get there. Don't you just hate it when you think they're dead and you have to smush heads with your foot?

Yeah, it takes a bit to realize that up is always forward no matter which direction you're going in.

If the zombies just fall down but there's no blood underneath them that means they're still alive, so don't approach. My brother and I used to shoot an extra bullet to make sure they were dead and some times waste ammo before figuring that out.

I don't know if its a glitch in the game but sometimes they stay dead without blood and just twitch. And I do wait to make sure. It is quite fun smooshing their heads really. I would never have had the patience to play this game around its release. I'm still impatient but at least I'm not that bad anymore

Oh, forgot about that. I'm not sure if it's a glitch or just the way they designed the game. Probably the way they designed the game.

On the topic of RE2, Capcom stated they're now working on a remake, which have been requested by fans for a while now. If it's like the RE1 remake it might be good, especially if they do it like the HD port and have your choice of tank controls or the refined controls they added for that version. If it's like some of their newer crap it's gonna suck hardcore.

I really enjoyed Resident Evil 2 actually. It's been a number of years since I last played it but it was at least on par with the original. Maybe I'll download it onto my Vita and give it another whirl!

RE1 and 2 had some "great" lines.

At one point I could pretty much play through RE2 with my eyes closed. I played through it so many damn times.
    I like Kung-Fu.

The best lines are still in RE1 though.

"And Jill, here's a lockpick. It might be handy if you, the master of unlocking, take it with you."
"That was too close! You were almost a Jill sandwich."
