Take Down, like most recoil moves, is quite powerful (at least, for that stage of the game). Just spam Potions until it runs out of PP or kills itself with recoil (though that does risk crits, which are BS until Gen VI).

Remember, if a Pokemon's health goes yellow, that means it has dropped under 50%. If that happens in one hit, another one will usually KO.

yeah thats a tiny problem that throws me, sometimes i cant tell because the yellow and green look similar to me. but oh well. im sure the next gym will be ok with my 2 flying types.
