I prefer Police Comedy Dramas, actually. Shows like Death in Paradise and Psych are my favourites.
Law and Order, SVU specifically. Although Criminal Intent isn't too bad.
Including The Wire on this list makes the choice not even a competition. I consider it the best television show ever made, so it's necessarily the best of any subsection of TV shows.
Of the remainders on this list, I was a big fan of Law & Order growing up (the original series, at least once Sam Waterston was added). The first couple seasons of Homicide were also great, but then it just turned into a traditional police procedural.

CSI: Miami is epic!
No Brooklyn 9.0? I hit other for that one.
Law & Order SVU. Followed by Criminal Intent, followed by Cold Case, followed by NYPD Blue.

Criminal Intent probably. The first season of True Detective is almost good enough to make up for the terrible second season as well.
I generally prefer Detective show format to Police Procedural format but NCIS is good to have running in the background
Kefka's coming, look intimidating!
Have a nice day!!
Needs more Morse.
I've never been a fan of police procedurals, but I did like Almost Human which was your standard cop show in a sci-fi wrapper. Too bad it was cancelled.
Cop comedies are much better. Brooklyn Nine Nine is my favorite comedy on TV right now.
Proud to be the Unofficial Secret Illegal Enforcer of Eyes on Final Fantasy!

I like A Touch of Frost, Midsomer Murders and I occaisionally watch Poirot. I'm not a big detective show watcher, that's my mums department.
I prefer comedy to drama, and yes Brooklyn Nine Nine is the best!
