    Default BoB's Top 100 Games

So earlier this year, Neo posted his favourite 100 games, and I was inspired. It seems maybee, shion and sharky were equally inspired and they have also posted lists. I've been biding my time but I've finally got bored enough to complete my list and am ready to start posting it.

Games that won't be in this list: Most Nintendo games. I grew up on PC, SEGA and Sony. You're not likely to find much from Nintendo on this list at all, so expect zero Zelda or Super Mario Brothers games. I don't know nothin' about Kirby, I'm not a massive fighter game fan and, well, you know that favourite game of yours? I may not have played it. Bite me. Also, well, let's just say that my cow is most definitely cursed.

Games that will be in this list: I've not played a thousand games, but I like to think that I've played a large variety and that my list will give a diverse grouping of games from all kinds of genres because of that. Also, it'll include games covering a range of over 30 years (going by release dates), some of which are older than I am. Any consoles listed merely shows which way I played them the first time, so don't read too much into that. Also, in some cases I've felt that a series of games was better represented as a group rather than a single game on the list, while others might be split. That's just the way it is because I can do that, so ner to anyone who thinks it's not specific enough.

    So... shall we?

    100. Dig Dug
    PC, 1982

Dig Dug is amazing. I remember playing it as a kid and to this day, I adore the music more than anything. It was a rather simple game and yet it was never the same for me each time regardless of the simplicity. I could just keep playing and playing. I remember, being young, I found it quite hard at first to get anywhere with it. I think it may have been the second game I ever played after PacMan. I dunno... I just have otterly fond memories, again particularly due to the music, but it was great all the same. This one is Nostalgia 101, and makes the list almost entirely based on that, I guess. I otter play it again sometime.

    Boo! Your list sucks!

(SPOILER)You know, I actually have played either this or a clone of this. It's been so long though, but I distinctly remember playing a game that looked like that based off the google images.

I expect BoB's list to be better than Neo's because it'll be 90% less gaming hispter obscure Japanese RPGs you've probably never heard of!

If you're anything like me, you'll remember the music better than the look of the game. I played it in monochrome so it looks nothing like the images shown on Google for me, but oh man, that noise when you die? It still rings through my head whenever I die in a video game to this day.

Cause If so I'm pretty sure this was it. Might have been at the Arcade in town when I'd visit my Grandparents at Christmas.

Maybe FFX should go and sit in a corner and think about what it's done.

Anyone who reads enough of my posts (or at least the right ones) will know that this isn't actually the case. My favourite game isn't much of a secret.

If you put Final Fantasy VIII in a more positive spot then yeah it will be better than NeoCrackers.

    Not biased.

To be honest Dig Dug should really be up in everyone's Top 25. I spent about 45 minutes playing it yesterday.

45 minutes playing a 30 year old game. That's staying power.

Maybe if I'd played it more recently I'd have put it higher up, but it was rough enough to have to cut so many games I've enjoyed over the years from the top 100 entirely. Some choices on my list might surprise some people. In the "why is that on this list" way.
